They were wholesale jewelers selling watchmaker's jeweler's, and engraver's tools. Whether or not they made the tools is unknown.

The catalog in the collection does not explicitly refer to any of the products therein as manufactured by Otto Young & Co. They offer products from Illinois Watch Co., Rockford Watch Co., Keystone Watch Case Co., Trenton Watch Co., Elgin National Watch Co., American Watch Co., Cheshire Watch Co., and Columbus Watch Co. On page 151 there are two instances of pairs of tweezers depicted bearing the stamp "OWB&CO." One pair is "diamond tweezers, with shovel," the other is "non-magnetic tweezer." (See photograph below)
