These items are part of the Cohasset Hoard. C) has "Ill." written on one side.
N1302 Scraper and pestle photo DTM
Stone, 7 1/2" long,4 5/8" wide scraper, 5 1/2" long, 3 1/2" wide pestle.
These tools were dug in Unity, ME, in the 1930s and their age is unknown, but they may be typical of an Archaic tool kit.
The scraper would have been used for preparing hides and furs, especially moose hide, for clothing.

Sweetgrass and ash basket, obsidian projectile point and stuffed fabric fragments, 2.4 cm x 1.5 cm projectile point.
These were formerly in the Suzanne Nash Collection.
Bone Tools

Bone, 6 1/4" long.
Date and origin are unknown. What purpose would this well worn bone tool have served? (See Bourque.)

The awl has two points.

Mimbres. This was found in north west Arizona.
092003NA26 Clay pot with bone pipe fragments DTM MHC-B
Clay, bone, pot: 5 cm diameter opening, 5.5 cm long, 10.5 cm wide at handles.
Two large pipe fragments are labeled "Duxbury, Mass". One is 4.2 cm x .08 cm and the other 4.3 cm x .08 cm. One small
pipe framgment is labeled "Plymouth, Mass" and is 2.3 cm x 0.7 cm. This item is part of the Cohasset Hoard.

These three footed earthenware pots were dug out of a Caddoan mound in east Texas in the early 20th century by somebody
working for the Smithsonian Institution. These are trade items imported from Central America.
